"In life you make mistakes; grow up, learn from them."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Grace J., Age 17 --- Mississippi
I chose this selection because really in life you do make mistakes. Whether big or small, even and still afterwards, you need to grow up. Remember and learn from those mistakes, just don't make the same mistake twice. Telling myself this each day helps me make better choices.

"Don't let mistakes bring you down. Yes, mistakes are hard to accept, but making mistakes is what makes you perfect."
Written in 2008 by Gilson M., Age 14 --- Northern Mariana Islands
I created this quote because many people I know are always so sad whenever they make mistakes. I told some of my friends this quote and they felt much better.

"You get one chance at life. So live, love, and try with no regrets."
Written in 2008 by Carol Ann W., Age 17 --- Georgia
I wrote it while thinking about some things in my life that are troubling me. So I decided that I needed not to dwell on my past and move on. But it is up for opinion.

"Reach out and open the door that no one thought could be opened. Life's behind it! You don't have an eternity to realize your dreams, only the time you are here. If you risk nothing, you risk everything!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Liz M., Age 17 --- Washington
The quote is true about the way I see life. You need to take risks to know your true potential

"We are not here to search for our future; we are here to create it."
Written in 2008 by Pete Z., Age 16 --- Philippines

"Don't worry about what others think about you. If you try to act like something you're not, you're going to lose the ones who believed in you the most and then all you'll have is people who like someone for who you aren't. If you act like yourself then you will always have people behind you no matter how tough life gets."
Written in 2008 by Krystian H., Age 16 --- Michigan
This is something I had to look deep into my soul to find because I was in the position of not knowing who I was. So I said, "I will be me and be hated by less, than be someone else and be hated by more."

"I am the author of my own life and unfortunately I'm writing in pen and can't erase my mistakes."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Destiny H., Age 14 --- Texas
I struggled with some problems in the past and I came across this quote and it was totally true.

"STOP! Stop letting people walk all over than you. Stand up for yourself because sometimes you're all you've got. Don't let anything get in the way of your dreams because if you do, sooner or later you're gonna regret it. Be different because while others are getting high and flunking, you'll be doing good. Don't be dumb because if you listen to all those people who say you can't.... you won't get anywhere."
Written in 2007 by Sam C., Age 15 --- Ohio
I wrote this to tell all teens that they should follow their heart and let nothing get in their way.

"The world is my suitcase; let me pack it all in."
Written in 2007 by Meghan S., Age 18 --- Massachusetts

Some people may say they can't, but they are just being lazy, if they really wanted to accomplish something they could do it.

Written in 2007 by Michael D., Age 15 --- Ireland
My teacher, in response to my ideas in math class

"Build faith to create miracles."
Written in 2007 by Luis D., Age 16 --- California

"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."
Bob Marley --- Submitted by Taylor M., Age 15 --- Georgia

"Be true to yourself and be less concerned with what others think about you. Don't accept their definition of you, but grow into a self-definition of your own."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Devika R., Age 17 --- India

"Life works in two ways, the best ways and worst ways. If you're upset all the time, your life is going to turn out on the worst side. If you're happy, it's going to turn out on the best side. It's your decision."
Written in 2007 by Thomas L., Age 16 --- Ireland
It's a personal quote I made up myself. Since I said it to everybody, they seemed to change into better people. This is when I first used it: When my best friend's dog died 2 months ago, he was really depressed. He used to stay in his house everyday. I talked to him and told him my quote. I also said to take it seriously. The next day, he came outside smiling and thanked me for the quote. He saw life as a random place.

We each have one
It carries our story
It's influenced by our story
It speaks to the future
It comes from our heart
It needs to be cultivated
It needs to be let out
Develop it, all you can
Mine it, for all it's worth
Yes, find your voice
Your own unique sound
And respect the voice of others
So the chorus can be heard!
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Vishal G., Age 16 --- India
I chose this one because I think it will help us to find ourselves, in us, which is very important nowadays. As Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "The ablest man I ever met is the man you think you are." So this is just the right one for us.

"Let them at all times concern themselves with doing a kind thing for one of their fellows, offering to someone love, consideration, thoughtful help. Let them see no one as their enemy, or as wishing them ill, but think of all humankind as their friends; regarding the alien as an intimate, the stranger as a companion, staying free of prejudice, drawing no lines."
'Abdu'l-Baha --- Submitted by K.C., Age 15 --- Illinois
I, personally, find the writings of the Baha'i Faith (including those of 'Abdu'l-Baha)to be amazing and inspiring. They speak of how to live one's life... we are told to love, not to hate. I have never read any part of the Baha'i writings that disagrees with human kindliness, honesty, compassion, and morality. In fact, the Baha'i Faith has changed my life forever. As a high schooler, I find immense peace of mind in that fact.

"When facing something unknown you should always smile, buck up, and embrace it."
Written in 2007 by Cassie N., Age 16 --- New Mexico

"Love me when I least deserve it, because this is the time I really need it!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Namita M., Age 18 --- India

"Sky will turn darker and darker when sun is setting, until you can't see a thing. But sky will turn brighter than before when sun rises again in a new day. You of yesterday and you of today combine together and become YOU OF THE NEWTOMORROW. Face tomorrow with a smile because another journey is waiting for you."
Written in 2007 by Sherilyn W., Age 15 --- Malaysia
Don't mind if the situation becomes worse; just keep moving forward. You will find out your future will be easier to explore once you've experience the worst condition.

"Just because life didn't give you the best doesn't mean you shouldn't give it your best."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Mayra H., Age 14 --- California

"The world is based off of one look. The look. The way each and every teenage girl is supposed to look. Our world is like a canvas craving to be splattered with paint. Not the same old portrait but something unique, in its own way; nothing anybody else would have ever thought up. Let us be that portrait."
