I had my braces put on several months ago. I play the trumpet and playing the trumpet with braces can make an otherwise amazing trumpet player sound like a dying ostrich. This was around the time that the auditions for a high school scholarship were to be held. I decided that I would practice every day and try my best at getting that scholarship. There were times when I wanted to throw the trumpet at the ground and give up. I kept on going and ended up with a $1,000 scholarship! I would like to encourage people to try, even if they think they won't make it. Trying is always better than doing nothing.

Make them last."
