" Do what you can today to make for a better tomorrow."
Written in 2009 by Kali A., Age 18 --- New York
I picked this quote because I try to live my life like this each day.

" Imagine yourselves 10 years from now. You look back and see how naive you were trying to kill time with games, parties, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc. Then you start to wonder... YOU weren't killing time; TIME was killing YOU."
Written in 2009 by David K., Age 15 --- California

" When you have to pick between two bad decisions, won't matter which one you pick. You will always think that the one you pick was the worst one. It's not."
Written in 2009 by Marcelo S.,Age 18 --- Brazil
I'm saying this because I was in this kind of situation a lot of times in my life, and now I realize that it doesn't really matter. If you have two bad decisions, you may choose the best one, but you will think it's the wrong one. So, just be happy because it probably could be worse!

" Do not mind what others say...They just wish they were like you. Just do your own thing and succeed. Pay no attention to those that hate."
Written in 2009 by Mandeep S., Age 18 --- Canada
I selected this because someone helped me through a tough time, kind of like this quote that I made myself one day thinking about it. And this quote is dedicated to her. Thank you for everything; you do not know how I feel.

" People can't read your mind so if you have a dream, take a chance and share it. Someone may not like it but there will always be someone who is ready to help you get to where you want to be."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Ashley L. --- Missouri
I love this! It inspired me and I hope it does the same for you!

" Don't waste your life trying to impress other people, because when you're lying in bed at night, the only person who you're with is yourself."
Written in 2008 by Stefan H., Age 14 --- New York
I thought of this at the start of freshmen year in high school. For the first couple of months I was so caught up in what people thought of me, until one I day I just didn't care. I knew the only person who would understand who I am is myself. All anyone needs is for themselves to like who they are, other people's opinions don't matter.

" When in a flock of aeropostle, go to anchorblue."
Written in 2009 by Lesshelle S., Age 13 --- Washington
I chose this because I have recently moved from California to Washington and I feel like this means to me that no matter where you are and what they do, stand out. It's more fun.

" To realize the good you must go through the bad."
Written in 2007-2008 by Trevor S., Age 14 --- Colorado
Personal experiences.

January 21, 2009
" When you look back at everything that has happened in the years you have been here, a lot of the things you did were not worth it. The closer you get to someone, the harder it is to trust, to love, to listen, and to feel when they are gone. We might not ever know why things happen the way they do, or why we lose the people that we would have hoped to been around forever, but they happen, and regardless of what they did or why they did it, you have to learn to forgive and that's the answers to all your problems, I promise."
Written in 2009 by Madison D., Age 15 --- Kansas
I wrote this to just inspire when you are feeling at your worst.

" Don't let life control you. Take things one step at time until you control life."
Written in 2008 by Sidney C., Age 15 --- Maryland
I wrote this quote at the beginning of my freshman year in high school. I wrote it because I was so caught up in life that I was letting it control what I did. I was no longer making my own decisions. One day I said Stop! and I took control of my life and things are so much easier.

BELIEVE

I walk where failures fear to walk.
I make the most out of my clock.
I do my best at everything I do
Even when I am not told to.

Believe in yourself even when there is no hope
Life is just like a very tall slope.
Beliefs are really needed
In order to say we have succeeded.

My motto in life is "Only the Best!!!"
I should prove it among the rest!
Everyone fails,
But life has different sets of sails.

If in life I fall,
I still stand tall.
Believe in yourself!
Never give up or even doubt yourself!

I wrote this poem for my English class and my teacher loved it! I'd like to share it to all of you!

" It's not over till you're dead."
Written in 2008 by Ocean H., Age 16 --- California
Basically, I believe as long as you're still breathing, it's not too late for anything. As long as you're alive, you should never give up, never back down, never surrender. That's why I wrote this.

" If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing."
Anatole France --- Submitted by S.M., Age 14 --- New Hampshire
Always remain true to yourself and don't let the stupid people in this world bring you down to their level!

" Parents should be encouraging to their children when teenagers want to dream high, they are in love with someone, they want to hang out with their friends & even when they cry because they are hurt. Parents should give them space, so that they can dream as if they'll live forever, even if they die tomorrow!!"
Written in 2009 by Priya P., Age 14 --- India
I have written this on my own as I am a teenager and I am expressing my own view!

January 14, 2009
" The rite of passage...adolescence is not an easy one. It comes with a wardrobe filled with clothes of indistinguishable emotions that are so hard to suppress. When we become teenagers, we are all taking one ride, which will ultimately lead us to different paths. However, to make a success of yourself, in spite of these emotions running around, you need to go on a journey of self-discovery. I started my journey and it has been a big help in helping me combat all sorts of feelings including the negative pressure that comes from my peers. Come to think of it, pressure is an emotion we all have to face with success, be it external or internal. Whoever said as a teenage, 'you can't make anything of yourself, you are simply too young', Lied!!! I am telling you now that you can make a difference in your life, family and community. Keep swinging!"

" Nobody in this world can respect you better than you respect yourself, so don't let anyone treat you any worse than you treat yourself. Everyone is a beautiful and a remarkable creation of God. If you have an issue with anyone about anything or disrespect anyone because of their looks, then you take that up with God. He is the creator, right?"
Written in 2008 by B., Age 13
I just have had a lot of things on my mind, stress as well. And, people have really been disrespecting me so I came up with this.

" Education doesn't mean just studying in a four-walled closed room but to wander the whole world learning everything by your own."
Written in 2008 by Pratz K., Age 17 --- India

January 12, 2009
" If you really think the impossible might never happen, it just might. Be prepared for what life gives you and take action. If it's bad, fix it. If it's good, let the world know. Doing nothing will only make you weaker and won't get you anywhere. Be ready for the consequences. Take that risk, but if you end up in a hole, be a good person and accept your actions and especially learn from it. That's all HE wants."
Written in 2009 by Biz S., Age 16 --- Illinois
I have just experienced something that ruined my school rep. This really got me thinking. Don't do anything stupid, or if you think you're going to do it, think before and think what this could cause. This could ruin the rest of your high school experience. Don't be stupid like I was.

" Don't let others steal you joy. You are who you are because GOD made you that way. Someone may tell you to stop smiling but I say that gives you all the more reason to smile."

" Your life starts with full open doors. As you grow up, the mistakes you make and the paths you choose will determine which door you'll go through."
Written in 2008 by Nicholas P., Age 15 --- Arizona
I came up with this quote for one reason and one reason only. Seeing the people with apathetic attitudes in the future only strengthen me to be the best.

" Don't stop working hard, if you really want to make your life bright."
Written in 2008 by Naina G., Age 14 --- India
Really working hard is so important for everyone if he/she wants to make their life bright because if you will work hard, then nobody can stop you from completing your aim. So friends, promise yourself to work hard from today forward and you will feel proud of whatever you will do. I wish all the best for your future.

" High school is about finding who YOU are, not who everyone else is. So take every chance you can get and learn what you can do and enjoy every second of it."
Peter and Sandy Oemichen --- Submitted by Jeff, Age 18 --- Wisconsin
I selected this quote from my parents because I have failed to live up to this quote and Senior year, I finally found out how fun High school is - if you take the opportunities that come at you. I don't want other people to make the same mistake as I have.

" If life gives you lemons, change the world."
Written in 2008 by Danielle M., Age 14 --- California
I put a twist to the regular "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade" quote. I think my quote means, if something bad happens to you, don't just turn into a good thing, make it motivate you to do even more, for you and for others.

" In order to be where you want to be, you have to realize where you are and where you were."
Written in 2008 by Amber G., Age 18 --- Michigan
I wrote this one day after having a conversation with my best friend. She was all confused about what she wanted to do in life and where she wanted to be. I had to realize for myself that you can't know where you want to be if you don't know where you are at the moment of questioning.

" It isn't too childish too still want to fly."
Written in 2008 by Jason G., Age 13 --- Arizona
I wrote this because regardless your age, I'm sure we all want to fly, possibly physically or physiologically. Either way, we all want an escape from reality, a peaceful place to call our own; somewhere were there are no worries and just peace. "Flying" away to a secret place to escape the world's madness.

" Life is complicated in every way. You must make choices that change your life forever but no matter what, life will turn out the way it is suppose to. You will make bad decisions, which will make you stronger. You will go through hard times, which will make you stronger and you will break down and cry. But no matter how hard times get remember, you will get through this. It will be over some day. It may not be one of those times where you look back and laugh at it but you CAN get through it."
Written in 2008 by K.H., Age 14 --- Indiana
I hope someone likes it.
