Honor Yourself Today
Recently, I was reminded to look for the patterns that unfold while working with my clients or in my own personal life. As an Intuitive Counselor and Teacher, I immediately recognized what this statement meant.
Most often there's an energy of a similar pattern surrounding people's lives. Each of us may not be experiencing the same issue, but the dominating thoughts around our individual situations are somewhat identical.
Lately, I have noticed the "pattern" of us asking the question...
"Why is it so hard to LET GO?"
Letting go shouldn't be so hard, especially when we feel like holding on doesn't serve us anymore or isn't what we believed we truly needed or wanted in our lives.
Does it really matter what needs to be released from our lives, or our thoughts? Are some things THAT important? The topic of letting go (once we admit to ourselves it's necessary), seems to have a direct effect on our psyche.
I've been recognizing patterns in my own life. I have a tendency to hold on too long to things. This is sometimes due to my lack of faith in myself - in my own "knowing," or a silent fear of what might actually shine through if I let it; ... and whether or not I am ready to acknowledge it?
Perhaps I am avoiding my own inner truth that is patiently waiting for me to remove my rose-colored glasses and see the reality of the situation?
I hope I will make room for bigger and better things in my life. Yet, the thought of removing those (rose-colored) glasses can be intimidating -- with the unknown lurking just on the other side. Having removed these glasses in the past and not allowing fear to win, I've found a sense of strength and courage I had somehow buried deep within myself.
(Welcome back strength and courage, my old friends, and thank you for your patience!)
I no longer repeat the same patterns but sometimes create new unhealthy patterns and quickly recognize the glasses are trying to place themselves back onto my face! I gracefully remove them and each time I find things are never as hard or tragic as I thought!
It doesn't have to be an "all or nothing" outcome in a day.
Baby steps serve me well -- like a child no longer wishing to drink from a "baby-bottle," and who is now ready and willing to drink always from the "big-person" cup! Some things take longer and seem harder to release than others, and this is okay.
Take it slow. Begin by asking yourself, "Why am I having such a difficult time thinking about or taking steps toward letting something go?" The answers that come, and I promise you they will come, may not seem as scary as you had once thought.
Trust the process and let go of those things in your life that are not propelling you forward. After letting go, and then looking back, we may notice that we have become different people; stronger, and maybe even a bit wiser! We may also find that we've opened up space within ourselves! When we breathe in, more air seems to fill our lungs!
Today I invite you to honor yourself and LET GO of the patterns in your life that do not serve you anymore. Begin to weave new patterns in the fabric of your life!
