REVENGE

I wrote this poem while observing that bitterness and hatred can last from one generation to the next. It's funny, because after a while people don't even remember the quarrel, but the bitterness lives on. With bitterness, some want revenge. The saying, "I don't get mad, I get even," this philosophy is dangerous in our society. In order for our children and our grandchildren to live in peace and love, we must put away all bitterness towards each other, and learn to live with forgiveness! Peace begins with each of us, and in order to obtain that inner peace we must forgive.

Won't you come
and sup with me?
Old as father time
am I.

We will share,
hours of bittersweetness.
Pain like a two-edged sword
will also be ours.

Clymenstra and Agamemnon
I caught in my web,
round and round
we went, no end in sight.

As a snake
I'm ready to strike.
Revenge am I,
generations we can change!

So won't you come and
sup with me?
