A lot of people enjoy this site, but do you really know who else might need to come here? Remember, many people are facing some difficult times right now and may not even tell you.

Share with them a gift of hope, encouragement - a place to come to read, reflect and refresh themselves. You never know who you can touch, in such a special way.

Here's what I mean. It's a letter I received from one of our readers:

Dear Marlene,

Today I take the opportunity to place my sincere word of thanks to your website.

About a year back from today, I was stretched out, tired, exhausted and depressed with life, stymied by constant failures. I threw my hands up, sitting on the rooftop of my house deep in the night. I felt like committing suicide!

Just then a voice within me started to talk, quietly. The voice was very soothing and reassuring. It asked me to search for motivation in Internet next morning.

The next morning, I did a Google search, with a lot of skepticism and I stumbled upon motivateus.com! That was 16th October 2007.

I surfed your site, like a hungry man eats food and collected at least 20 odd quotes. Since then, I made it a habit to scout your site everyday morning as a matter of ritual for 10 minutes and collect quotes. I have myself contributed twice so far, the last being on October 8th. (There is a superior wisdom above us...)

The quotes helped me to overcome stress, difficulties, exhaustion and keep going, despite severe career and financial difficulties. Today my career, after nearly an year's struggle, has turned round the corner and I am marching in a different direction. I even made new friends! I am not out of the woods completely yet, but today I know that I have put my failures behind.

Once again thanks to your website and today I have a treasure house of quotes. I share it with all today.

Regards,

S.D.

Something I Was Feeling and Thinking:

How Do You Start Your Day?

Do you turn on the news, fill your mind with all that's wrong in the world or do you start out being thankful for all you have and look for something good to happen?

I start mine with this question: I wonder what wonderful thing is going to happen today?

Why? To put into play the type of day I expect to have, I hope to have, I want to have, that I am open to have.

When I said, "I wonder what wonderful thing will happen today", did you get a picture in your mind of something big? Something so good that you couldn't believe it?

What I mean is this: wonderful to me means many things. It could be a conversation, an email, a chance encounter, a warm feeling, a kindness I am allowed to share or many other possibilities. Wonderful is a word I use to describe, to myself and other people, how I view the world.

May I suggest that slow down for just one minute today to say thank you for all that you blessed with, all that you have been given.

May I suggest that today, if you don't already, start with the expectation that something wonderful is going to happen to you.

It will, if you expect it and just let it.

Take care and be great!

Sending you love from my heart to your heart,
Marlene

Something To Encourage You:

Your Dimension Of Greatness

No one can know the potential,
Of a life that is committed to win;
With courage - the challenge it faces,
To achieve great success in the end!

So, explore the Dimension of Greatness,
And believe that the world CAN be won;
By a mind that is fully committed,
KNOWING the task can be done!

Your world has no place for the skeptic,
No room for the DOUBTER to stand;
To weaken your firm resolution
That you CAN EXCEL in this land!

We must have VISION TO SEE our potential,
And FAITH TO BELIEVE that we can;
Then COURAGE TO ACT with conviction,
To become what GOD MEANT us to be!

So, possess the strength and the courage,
To conquer WHATEVER you choose;
It's the person WHO NEVER GETS STARTED,
That is destined FOREVER to lose!

A Story To Ponder:

The Obstacle in Our Path

In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.

Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.

As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many others never understand.

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one's condition.

Something I'd Like To Share:

You Become What You Think About

  • Dream big; creative visualization (think about your dreams) mental rehearsal; and imagine yourself at 10 times today's earnings.

  • Do what you love to do; become better and better; commitment is starting point; commitment to excellence; and become the best at what you do.

  • Focus on your strengths - they're unique; introspection - what are they; and ask people you respect what should I do.?

  • See yourself as self-employed; be the president of your company; work for yourself; treat your company like you own it; and remember "if it's to be, it's up to me."

  • Never consider failure; life has ups and downs; learn from setbacks; and wisdom plus reflection.

  • Clear sense of direction; clear sense of goals; work on them everyday; decide what you want; and what price you will pay.

  • Develop workaholic mentality; 12 hours a day; 8 hours to survive; over 8 for investment; and try harder.

  • Get around right people; positive, goal oriented and successful people; associate with winners.

  • Be teachable; open to new information; do not be impressed with your own intelligence; be ready to learn; take in new information; and ask questions, and advice from people who know.

  • Be prepared to climb from peak to peak; valley between each (ebb and flow); up and down - always; and roll with it. .

  • Develop resilience; bounce back; and remember all peak performances bounce no matter how hard they hit.

  • Unlock your creativity; do 10% better; demand your strengths; and stretch your originality and speed.

  • Focus on continuous personal development; with books, tapes, seminars, reading, studying, listening, practicing, and developing your mind.

  • Be an unshakable optimist; look for the good in every situation; confident expectations no matter how bad; expect to be rich; expect to be successful; you get what you expect, not what you want; and stay away from negative people.

  • Dedicate yourself to serving others; people who give are the happiest and have the most; people who take have the bare minimum; top performers lose themselves in other peoples reward; and put value on your service.

  • Develop a reputation for speed and dependability; develop a sense of urgency - do it now; get on with the job; and act fast on opportunities.

  • Be impeccably honest to yourself and others; honesty, truth, integrity and absolute trust in the foundation of our system; and always deliver on your commitment.

  • Concentrate on one thing at a time; set priorities; concentrate on top task 100%; concentrate 100% of your energy on one single task; what is the most valuable use of your time right now; do it 100% and then go on.

  • Be decisive; make decisions quickly; think and act; characteristic of genius is to make decisions quickly; remember a bad decision is better than no decision at all.

  • Back your plans and goals with persistence and determination; stick to it longer than anybody else; your measure of belief is yourself; persistence is a habit; and never quit.

  • Self mastery; self control; self discipline; develop capacity to force yourself to do what you know you must do - when you should do it - whether you like it or not; and master key to riches.

Three Quotes To Motivate You:

"Each of you should feel that you have great potential and that, with self-confidence and a little more effort, change really is possible if you want it. If you feel that your present way of life is unpleasant or has some difficulties, then don't look at these negative things. See the positive side, the potential, and make an effort."
--- The Dalai Lama

"When you finally think, say, feel, and decide that you can, strange miracles start to happen."
--- Pete Zafra --- California

"This is the place. This is the time. There is no other."

Until Next Time, Remember:

Go After Your Dreams

You're good, but you're going to be great.

You're the best, but you're going to get better.

Sometimes the paths we take are long and hard, but remember: those are always the ones that lead to the most beautiful views.

Challenges come along inevitably: how you respond to them determines who you are - deep down inside - and everything you're going to be.

Increase the chances of reaching your goals by working at them gradually. The very best you can do is all that is asked of you.

Realize that you are capable of working miracles of your own making. Remember that opportunities have a reason for knocking on your door, and the right ones are there for the taking.

You don't always have to win, but you do need to know what it takes to be a winner.

It's up to you to find the key that unlocks the door to a more fulfilling life.

Understand that increased difficulty brings you nearer to the truth of how to survive it - and get beyond it.

Cross your bridges.

Meet your challenges.

Reach out for your dreams, and bring them closer and closer to your heart.

Get rid of the "if only's" and get on with whatever you need to do to get things right.

Go after what you want in life, with all the blessings of all the people who care about you. And find out what making your wishes come true really feels like.
